The colors are beautiful at night:) The animal lanterns make sounds:) Food trucks at the end was a nice idea:) Selling drinks and cupcakes half through the walk was a nice idea also:) All fairly priced:) At times, getting around this vendors as you walked by was hard:( Had four vendors selling Chinese related items, some were priced very reasonable:) others, not so much:( The gardens gift shop was weak in our opinion. It was crowded and congested on some of the small paths:( The lanterns were really nice, worth seeing one time. Garden members receive an additional 5 off each ticket purchase. ![]() Advanced tickets must be purchased and are available online at for 15 - 25. Much of the park is blocked off so they keep you on the path of lanterns. Produced by Hanart Culture and presented by PNC Bank, the Chinese Lantern Festival will open every Wednesday-Sunday from 5:30 p.m. Our complements to the gardens, the long lines moved quick we thought:) Their employees did a GREAT job throughout the event:) They put on two Chinese related shows, few people watched the puppet show and soooooooooo many others watched the martial arts one you just couldn't see it:( No sitting, just standing on the martial arts show:( The walk around the gardens is nice, about a mile long to see the lights. We arrived right at 5:30pm and the lines stacked up quick.
